Joomla 1.5 Beta is now available for download. The core development team made the announcement to the community on 13th October 06 after months of hard work to get the Beta version ready for release. The new version of Joomla 1.5 has being redeveloped from the ground up to include a complete code rewrite, new API plus lots of new functionality to make even better than version 1.0. The beta version is not for use on production sites but was released to the community to enable them to test the new version and for component module developers to make the relevent changes if required. The following will guide you through the installing Joomla. Before you start the Joomla installation please ensure your web host supports the following so Joomla! can be installed correctly. You also must ensure that you have MySQL, XML and Zlib support built into your hosting package. Step 1 : Download the latest version of Joomla! The first step is to download the latest release of Joomla from the offical web site. Step 2 : Upload the files to the server using your FTP client The next stange is to unzip the Joomla zip file package you have just downloaded from the web site and upload all the files contained in the zip package to your server using an FTP client. The ideal location to upload the files to is the Root of the public_html or WWW directory. |
